This is how you can display your member's player assessment ratings for group allocation in your dashboard.
The DUPR rating is often used to assign pickleball players of a similar level to group clinics or leagues. If a player either does not yet have an official rating or feels that their current rating does not reflect their actual level, they can be rated by the Wingfield Box's Player Assessment mode (currently only available for Pickleball).
Wingfield Player Assessment
The Player Assessment mode tests players in the key skills of pickleball. After completing an assessment at the Wingfield Box, they get a score that reflects their performance in all exercises.
Identify your assessment level
All drill sequences are designed to fit the corresponding playing level. With higher levels, the drills become more complex with smaller target zones.
- Beginner: Targets players new to Pickleball by assessing the "basic shots", serve, return, and dinks.
- Intermediate: Targets players able to differentiate between soft game and net play. It adds direction to the Dink and the 3rd shot drop.
- Advanced: Targets skilled players who can quickly change the speed of play by applying pressure and neutralizing pressure.
- Expert: Targets highly skilled players who have precision control of many shots, which they use to effectively execute game strategy.
Transfer into DUPR
Our system transfers the Assessment Score into a hypotethical (!) DUPR. Each of the four assessment levels aligns with the Player Skill Ratings of USA Pickleball as follows.
Assessment level | Overall Assessment Score |
Player Skill Rating |
Beginner (15-25 min) |
60-79 | 2.0 - 2.5 |
80+ | 2.5 - 3.0 | |
Intermediate (25-35 min) |
60-79 | 3.0 - 3.5 |
80+ | 3.5 - 4.0 | |
Advanced (35-50 min) |
60-79 | 4.0 - 4.5 |
80+ | 4.5 - 5.0 | |
Expert (50-70 min) |
60-79 | 5.0 - 5.5 |
80+ | 5.5+ |
⚠️ Attention: Beginner-level assessments are considered "passed" only if the score is 80.0 or higher. Only then can a suitable player skill rating be assigned. As shown in the image below, no classification is displayed in this case.
