Playtomic Integration with Wingfield

Learn how to connect your Playtomic bookings to your Wingfield Courts via our API – for automatic check-in and seamless data flow.

    ☝🏻 By the way: Recording / the desired play mode must always be started manually by the players.

    ⚠️ Attention: This is always a one-way connection: data flows from the booking platform to Wingfield, never back!

    How the Playtomic integration works with Wingfield

      1. Booking sync: Wingfield regularly retrieves your club's bookings via the Playtomic API. Cancellations are picked up automatically.
      2. The booking appears on the court display: Starting around 10 minutes before match time, the terminal shows the time slot and player names – never email addresses.
      3. (Soft) login: Players who already have a Wingfield account with an email matching their Playtomic account are automatically logged in at the court. Anyone without a Wingfield account yet (or using different emails for Wingfield and Playtomic) is logged in as a guest and can link the session to a new or existing account afterwards.

      4. Access after the match: Players logged in as guests can scan an individual QR code on the Court Terminal after their session to link their recordings to an account. Players with an already-linked account see their results directly in the app.

      ☝🏻 By the way: Data protection is our top priority. That's why linking an account for the first time requires a few extra steps: after scanning the QR code, the player enters their email address on their smartphone and shortly after receives a linking request by email. One click to confirm – and the account is securely connected.

      How to connect Playtomic with Wingfield

      Add your Playtomic API key (specifically your Client ID and Client Secret) in the Wingfield Dashboard.

        1. In your Admin Dashboard, click your account icon (top right)
        2. Scroll down to Playtomic under Integrations
        3. Click Connect Playtomic
        4. Enter your Playtomic Client ID and Client Secret

        ☝🏻 By the way: You need to request your Playtomic API key directly from Playtomic support.

         

        Data protection information

          • Consent to recording follows GDPR requirements: players give their consent directly on the court screen before any recording starts.
          • Playtomic API credentials are stored encrypted!
          • All information retrieved from Playtomic is deleted after 30 days at the latest.
          • User and booking information is never copied or stored for any purpose other than logging in at the court.

          ☝🏻 By the way: Wingfield never creates accounts based on booking emails, email addresses are never shown on the court display at any point, and an account is only linked with the player's explicit consent. If a club disconnects the integration, all copied booking and participant data is deleted.
