Violations and sanctions in LK matches

Misconduct will be punished directly by us and can lead to exclusion from LK matches with Wingfield in case of repeated offenses. Here you can find out for what you can receive a warning for.

A violation account is kept for each player. As soon as this account becomes suspicious, it does not have to have any direct consequences at first, but your matches will be under special observation.

You can get a warning for the following:

    • Submitting a wrong match result.
    • Unfair play (e.g. deliberately losing a match).
    • Playing under a false identity.
    • Repeatedly abandoning a match without resuming it.
    • Repeatedly retiring because of the opponent
    • Repeatedly retiring from a match due to injury.

1) Submitting a wrong result

We calculate all the match results simultaneously to the result you send us. If these results do not match, we go into the detailed check here. If a wrong final result was transmitted by you, we cannot release the match. This is what happens now:

  • We do not forward the result to the DTB.
  • We do not charge a match fee.
  • A warning will be given to both players.

Example: Players mark the match as completely finished and enter 6:4, 6:2. as their score at the Wingfield box. Wingfield verifies that the actual score at the end of the match was 6:4, 4:2.

πŸ’‘Hint: A double check cannot hurt when confirming the result at the Wingfield Box πŸ˜‰ .

⚠️ Attention: We want fair matches on the Wingfield Courts, unsportsmanlike conduct will be punished. Repeated warnings can lead to an account suspension for LK matches.

2) Cheating: Manipulation

There are clear indications that a player deliberately lost the match. Our Artificial Intelligence has detected unusual playing patterns in the match, which was subsequently verified by our independent referees using video evidence. This is what happens now:

  • The player will be given the opportunity to make a statement.
  • The DTB decides on the further procedure regarding possible disciplinary sanctions.
  • The match fee will be charged.
  • A warning will be given to the respective player*s

⚠️ Attention: We want fair matches on the Wingfield Courts, unsportsmanlike conduct will be punished. Repeated warnings can lead to an account suspension for LK matches.

⚠️ Attention: As soon as the DTB decides not to approve the match, the same opponent constellation is not allowed to play an official lk match against each other for 3 months.

3) Fraud: False identity

There are clear indications that a player was playing under a false identity. This is what is happening now:

  • Both players* will be contacted by Wingfield and asked to make a statement

  • The match result will not be counted, but the case will be reported to the DTB.

  • The match fee will be charged
  • The player's Wingfield account will be suspended for LK matches.

  • Further disciplinary action will be taken by the DTB.

πŸ’‘ Hint: Before the match starts, make sure that your opponent is playing under his or her real identity. If in doubt, ask to see an ID card or similar.

☝🏼By the way: In our article Appeal against a decision you will learn what you can do if you disagree with the review result of your match.

4) Repeatedly abandoning a match without resuming it.

A player has repeatedly abandoned matches (e.g. due to weather, darkness, court booking, other reasons) and has not resumed them. This is what happens now:

  • From the first match that is not resumed, a warning will be given.
  • After the third time, the Wingfield account will be suspended for six months.

5) Repeatedly retiring because of the opponent

In matches, a player is repeatedly retiring because of the opponent.
This is what happens now:

  • After the third time, the Wingfield account will be suspended for six months.

6) Repeatedly retiring due to injury

A player had to retire due to injury in three matches within six months. That's what's happening now:

  • The Wingfield account will be suspended for six months.

That happens when warnings are issued

As soon as your violation account is charged with a warning, your matches will be under special observation. If you receive three warnings, you will be banned from Wingfield matches.

1. offense: First warning will be given to the player.

2. offense: Second warning will be given to the player.

3. offense: Exclusion from LK matches for six months.

⚠️ Attention: Particularly serious violations may lead to exclusion from Wingfield LK matches without a warning, with the approval of the DTB.

☝🏼 By the way: Warning expire after six months.
