Find the perfect court for your Wingfield Box (2/4)

In this article, you will find out which criteria you should use to select the space for your Wingfield Box.

Get an overview of the technical requirements of the Wingfield Court.

๐Ÿ“Here you are in the preparation guide.

1) Is the net post removable?

The Wingfield Box replaces the net post without tensioning mechanism. Make sure right from the start that your net post is not set in concrete and that its socket is not exorbitantly inclined (an inclined box may reduce the "field of view" of the cameras on the court).

โš ๏ธ Attention: Exclude the following:

  • โŒ The depth of the existing ground socket is less than 23cm
  • โŒ The ground socket is tighter than 6,3cm at its narrowest point

โ˜๐Ÿผ By the way: Our supplied net post adapters cover the standard ground socket diameters (round: 76mm or 83mm; square: 80x80mm). If your net post is set in concrete, please get in touch with our support. We will indeed find an individual solution.

2) What are the lighting conditions like?

To ensure perfect tracking, you should consider two things:

  • Avoid strong backlighting for good tracking: Ensure the sun is not shining into the Wingfield Box cameras from the front most of the day. Indoors, large windows should be at the back of the box.
  • Avoid shady courts for beautiful videos: Shade or backlighting can also affect the image quality of the Baseline Camera (see example image below).

3) Are internet & power available?

To use your Wingfield Box, you need a power and internet connection. We therefore always recommend a court near the clubhouse.

๐Ÿ”Œ Power: The maximum power of the Wingfield Box is about 140W (Wingfield Box plus Baseline Camera about 200W).

โ˜๐ŸผBy the way: The Wingfield Box consumes about 50W in operation and about 15W in standby. For comparison: A lighting system on a tennis court consumes between 3,000-5,000W.

๐Ÿ›œ Internet: To access your data quickly after playing, we recommend an upload speed of at least 5 Mbps.

โ˜๐ŸผBy the way: In the following article of this guide, we have compiled tips & solutions for you on how to get internet on your facility grounds.

๐Ÿ’กTip: If you already have an internet connection, you can quickly test its speed at www.speedtest.net. The test of a WIFI signal should be done on the chosen court.

4) How do you want to use Wingfield primarily? ๐ŸŽพ

Think about how you want to use the system. Should the system only be used by the coaches on one of the training courts, or should each of your clients/members have the chance to use Wingfield?

๐Ÿ’กTip: If you don't want to equip several of your courts directly, we recommend first starting with the training court. By integrating Wingfield firmly into the training, its use outside of the training will quickly become routine.
